Recruiting from Hawaii is nothing new to Mike Riley's staff, especially offensive line coach Mike Cavanaugh, who coached at Hawaii from 1999 to 2004. The latest target from the islands? Eletise — a 6-foot-4, 302-pound offensive lineman.
The Honolulu Kaiser High School lineman is rated a four-star prospect by 247 Sports and Scout and a three-star by Rivals. All three list him as a likely guard in college.
Eletise is being recruited by Cavanaugh and NU graduate assistant Tavita Thompson, who is a Honolulu native and played for Riley at Oregon State.
Eletise said he was thankful and humbled by the Nebraska offer in a tweet. He also has offers from UCLA, Hawaii, California, Arizona and Arizona State, among others.
These are the players who built Nebraska football.
