Isaac Slade-Matautia received an offer from the Huskers on June 19, 2015.

Nebraska defensive coordinator Mark Banker made a trip to the Islands on Nov. 29 to have an in-home visit with Slade-Matautia and his family.

Slade-Matautia then returned the favor by taking an official visit to Nebraska the weekend of Dec. 9. That was the first official visit he'd taken.

He spoke highly of the visit in interviews with Huskers Illustrated and Husker Online.

Colorado was an early top contender until its defensive coordinator, Jim Leavitt, left for Oregon. That then made the Ducks one of Slade-Matautia's top schools. He took an official visit there on Jan. 13 then committed to the Ducks on Jan. 22.

Slade-Matautia posted a SPARQ score of 113.46 at The Opening Regional in Oakland in May. That included a 4.71-second 40-yard dash, 4.25-second 20-yard shuttle, 41-foot kneeling powerball toss and 34.3-inch vertical jump.
