Tyler Johnson received an offer from the Huskers on Jan. 28, 2016.
On June 16, Johnson released a top 14 that included the Huskers. Also on his list were: Alabama, Arizona, Arizona State, Florida, Louisville, Miami, Michigan, Michigan State, Pitt, Tennessee, UCLA, USC and Washington.
He committed to Arizona State on Dec. 16.
As a junior in 2015, Johnson had more than 660 yards of offense with 11 touchdowns.
Johnson took an official visit to Michigan State on Nov. 19.
Johnson's father, Bill Johnson, played at Michigan State before becoming a third-round draft pick and spending eight seasons in the NFL as a defensive lineman.
Tyler Johnson is an athlete that could play either tight end or defensive end on the next level. Both tight ends coach Tavita Thompson and defensive coordinator Mark Banker are involved in his recruitment.
