Jaylon Redd received an offer from the Huskers on Feb. 29, 2016.

On July 6, Redd released a top eight that included the Huskers. Also on his list were Arizona, Arizona State, Michigan, Notre Dame, Oregon, UCLA and USC.

Redd took an official visit to NU on Sept. 3., which was his first trip to Lincoln. He was on the visit with his teammate at Rancho Cucamonga, Thomas Graham.

After the visit, Redd tweeted that he "had a great time in Lincoln!" He also spoke highly of the visit in interviews with Scout, 247Sports and Rivals.

The Huskers weren't able to get him, though. Redd announced his commitment to Oregon on Sept. 26 with a video produced by Bleacher Report.

Redd is ranked as an athlete by some of the recruiting services, capable of playing either side of the ball on the next level. Nebraska was interested in him as a cornerback with Brian Stewart his lead recruiter.

Redd posted a SPARQ score of 106.23 at The Opening Regional in Los Angeles in February. That included a 4.55-second 40-yard dash, 4.14-second 20-yard shuttle, 36-foot kneeling powerball toss and 36.6-inch vertical jump.
