The son of former LSU coach Les Miles is going to Nebraska to play his college football in 2017.
Ben Miles, one of the top-rated fullbacks in the nation, announced his pledge on Twitter on July 31. Miles, who attends Catholic High in Baton Rouge, picked Nebraska over offers from LSU, Michigan State and Boston College, among others. He first received an offer from the Huskers on March 7.
The 6-foot-1, 215-pound Miles made his first visit to Nebraska during the 2016 spring game in April. Coach Mike Riley, who has said the fullback position would have a more extensive role as his offense evolves at Nebraska, was excited about the addition of Miles. Riley posted to Twitter on Sunday of the "Big time news this afternoon out of Louisiana for the #Huskers!" That followed the fullback's announcement that he was committing to Nebraska:

Miles could potentially play multiple positions on the next level. Nebraska is recruiting him as an H-back that would have an impact both as a fullback and a tight end.
As would be expected with the son of a former Power Five coach, name recognition is another feature Miles brings to the Huskers. According to ESPN, he is popular among other recruits in Louisiana and throughout the Southeast. That popularity could possibly help Riley and his staff make further recruiting inroads in the South.
Reggie Davis and Tavita Thompson led the recruitment of Miles to Nebraska.
Davis made an in-home visit with Miles on Nov. 29, and Miles took his official visit to Lincoln the weekend of Dec. 9.
LSU was the first school to offer Miles, though he won't be the first of his siblings to not end up there. His older sister, Smacker, is a swimmer at Texas, and his older brother, Manny, is a walk-on quarterback at North Carolina.
