Isaiah Thomas received an offer from the Huskers on March 23, 2016.
On May 25, Nebraska showed how serious its interest is in Thomas. Recruiting staff member Todd McShane tweeted a picture of a stack of letters headed for Thomas, saying that after landing Deontre Thomas, "It's time to pair him with a freak DE!"
Thomas emerged on the recruiting scene when he received his first four offers on the same day in February 2016. Those came from Missouri, Tennessee, Iowa State and Oklahoma State. By the time Nebraska offered about six weeks later, Thomas was up to 11 with schools like Oklahoma, Texas A&M, and Baylor on the list. He landed one from Alabama at the end of April.
During the spring, he took multiple visits to Oklahoma. He also visited Missouri, Oklahoma State and Alabama.
He committed to Oklahoma on May 28.
