|Offer date||April 22, 2016|
Devonta Smith received an offer from the Huskers on April 22, 2016.
Less than a week after Nebraska offered, Smith included the Huskers in his top 10 with schools like LSU, Alabama and Florida State, among others.
Smith plans to announce his commitment on Aug. 15. Though he hasn't visited Lincoln, Nebraska still made the cut for his four finalists. Also on that list were Alabama, Miami and Mississippi State.
Smith postponed that decision as a result of severe flooding in South Louisiana. No makeup date is set, but Smith now has just three finalists — Miami, Alabama and LSU.
Smith earned an invite to The Opening as one of the top performers at the New Orleans Regional. There he posted a 4.13-second 20-yard shuttle, 38-foot kneeling powerball toss and 34.5-inch vertical jump.
He's also committed to play in the U.S. Army All-American Bowl.
These are the players who built Nebraska football.
