Gavin Holmes announced his commitment to Baylor on Jan. 22, 2017.
Holmes received an offer from the Huskers on Nov. 28, 2016.
That offer came when Nebraska wideouts coach Keith Williams made an in-home visit with Holmes and his family.
Holmes had been committed to Iowa since June 2016, but he backed away from that pledge on Nov. 22. Less than a week later, he had an offer from Nebraska.
Holmes didn't wait long to get his first look at Nebraska. He took an official visit to Lincoln on Dec. 9. Afterward, he tweeted "this place is special." He also spoke highly of the visit in interviews with Huskers Illustrated, Husker Online and Big Red Report.
He also took official visits to Arizona State (Jan. 13) and Baylor (Jan. 20).
On Dec. 22, Gavin Holmes announced a top seven that included the Huskers. Also making the cut were Arizona State, Baylor, Notre Dame, Oregon, UCLA and Utah.
Holmes had more than 1,500 receiving yards and 15 touchdowns as a senior in 2016. He also had a pair of return touchdowns.
Holmes had a 34-foot kneeling powerball toss and 33.9-inch vertical jump at The Opening Regional in Dallas in March.
These are the players who built Nebraska football.
