Nebraska entered signing day still looking to add another big-bodied receiver to its 2017 class.
It won't be Bryan Thompson, though, after he instead signed with Utah on Wednesday. Nebraska was one of six finalists for the Californian with Boise State, Oregon, UCLA, Utah and Washington State.
Thompson is a three-star prospect according to most of the major recruiting services, though Rivals considers him a four-star and the nation’s No. 153 overall recruit.
Nebraska pushed for the 6-foot-2 Thompson over the last month of the recruiting cycle, extending him a scholarship offer on Jan. 7. The Huskers then hosted him on an official visit the weekend of Jan. 20. That trip was enough to keep NU in the mix until the end, but wasn’t enough to ultimately land him.
These are the players who built Nebraska football.
