Bryson Williams received an offer from the Huskers on Dec. 3, 2017.

He was the first in-state recruit to pick up an offer after Scott Frost became the head coach. Frost and linebackers coach Barrett Ruud — a former coach at Lincoln Southeast — made an in-home visit with Williams that same day.

Williams has been committed to Wisconsin since July 5. He did not receive an offer from Nebraska's previous coaching staff.

Williams hosted Wisconsin coaches for an in-home visit on Dec. 6, and then he took his official visit there the following weekend.

Nebraska sent defensive coordinator Erik Chinander and defensive line coach Mike Dawson to visit Williams on Dec. 10.

But Nebraska's late interest wasn't enough as Williams announced on Dec. 14 that he would stick with his commitment to Wisconsin and sign with the Badgers on Dec. 20.

Williams is the No. 1 defensive lineman and No. 2 overall recruit in the 2018 NebHSRecruiting rankings. Williams was also a member of The World-Herald's Super Six.
