Lincoln Southwest’s Collin Shefke committed to Nebraska as a preferred walk-on at the Huskers' #Homegrown event.
Shefke unofficially visited Nebraska for game days numerous times this season.
“I feel like I have been committed to Nebraska for 13 years,” Shefke said. “I signed the dotted line to become a player at Nebraska when I was 5 years old after going to my first game. It truly is a dream come true.”
Shefke chose Nebraska over a scholarship offer from UNK and Iowa Western. He also had a preferred walk-on offer from Wyoming.
A highlight of the evening was the one-on-one time with new Husker coach Scott Frost.
“Seeing Scott Frost in person for the first time was like seeing LeBron James,” Shefke said.
These are the players who built Nebraska football.
