Branden Hohenstein, a tight end from Sioux City Heelan, will join the Huskers in 2016 as a preferred walk-on.
Hohenstein had 25 receptions for 494 yards and four touchdowns as a senior. He also played defensive end for Heelan.
He was named to the Sioux City Journal's Class 3A All-State team.
He chose to walk-on with Nebraska over offers from FCS and D-II schools.
