Brian Hightower received an offer from the Huskers on June 6, 2015. It was his first scholarship offer.
Originally from California, he transferred to the IMG Academy in Bradenton, Florida in January 2016. Before that, he attended Calabasas High School near Los Angeles.
There he was teammates with Huskers Marquel Dismuke, Keyshawn Johnson Jr. and Tristan Gebbia. He took his first visit to Nebraska with Johnson Jr. in June 2015, and it was on that visit that he received his offer from the Huskers.
Though NU was one of his top schools, Hightower committed to Miami on March 1, 2017.
But the Huskers are still in the mix. Hightower returned to Lincoln when he takes his official visit for the Wisconsin game on Oct. 7. He'll be on that visit with IMG teammates Brendan Radley-Hiles and TJ Pledger.
World-Herald staff writer Sam McKewon included him on his early list of 25 prospects to watch for the Huskers' 2018 recruiting class.
Hightower is committed to play in the U.S. Army All-American Bowl.
