Chris Hickman received an offer from the Huskers on Sept. 23, 2017.
That offer came while Hickman was at Memorial Stadium for Nebraska's game against Rutgers.
"I couldn't believe it," Hickman said in an interview with The World-Herald. "I was excited to know that the school was interested enough to give me the offer to play the sport I love."
He made that visit with high school teammate Nick Henrich, who later committed to the Huskers.
"We would love to go to the same school but we don't want to hold each other back from chasing our dreams," Hickman said. "As much as we'd love to, if it's not meant to be we won't be mad either way."
Hickman was one of the first three in-state players to receive an NU offer in the 2019 class.
Hickman, a member of The World-Herald's Super Six, continues to be a top target of the Huskers' new coaching staff.
Hickman took an official visit to Nebraska for the Colorado game on Sept. 8.
