Nebraska added a walk-on kicker Saturday afternoon when Lincoln Southwest’s Dylan Jorgensen committed to the Huskers.
Jorgensen, who according to Maxpreps has hit 6 of 9 field goals this season, said Nebraska is “my home” in an announcement on Twitter.
“I love this place and everything going on here with Nebraska football,” Jorgensen wrote. “I am ready to be a part of the amazing walk-on program and work and give my everything to this team.”
Nebraska’s current starting punter — Isaac Armstrong — is a walk-on from Lincoln Southwest. The Huskers have already landed a walk-on punter, Lincoln Southeast’s Grant Detlefsen, in the 2019 class.
Jorgensen is the fifth Husker walk-on commit for 2019. He joins Detlefsen, Millard West lineman Matt Huser, Lincoln High defensive back Cam Kleinschmidt and Fillmore Central lineman Riley Moses.
Excited to announce that I’ve received a walk-on offer from the University of Nebraska! With that being said, I am 100% committed to continuing my academic and football career at The University of Nebraska!???????? @coachwilhite @CoachZachCrespo @Coach_Dewitt @coach_frost pic.twitter.com/hbj6IRu0BA— Dylan Jorgensen (@dylanjorgens3n) October 20, 2018
