Omaha Skutt's Jake Archer announced his decision to walk-on at Nebraska on Twitter Thursday.
He was among more than forty in-state attendees at Nebraska's walk-on event in Lincoln on Wednesday night, which provided information on financial costs and benefits, included a tour of facilities and gave players a chance to hear from current and former walk-ons.
Archer, a 6-foot-1, 200-pound linebacker, set the Omaha Skutt career record for tackles with 410. He also broke the single-game record for tackles in a game with 23 in the Class B semifinals against Gretna.
"Nebraska has always been where I've wanted to play," Archer said. I grew up watching Nebraska football and I just fell in love with it."
