Ty Chaffin will join the Huskers program as a preferred walk-on in 2016 after a high school career at Burwell.
Chaffin first played varsity as a sophomore. As a senior in 2015, Chaffin had 48 catches for 870 yards and 14 touchdowns. He finished high school with almost 2,000 yards receiving and 30 touchdowns. Chaffin also played corner for Burwell, recording eight interceptions and 99 tackles over three years.
He helped lead Burwell to the Class D-1 State Championship game in 2015, but his team fell short to BDS for the title. Burwell reached the second round in each of Chaffin's other two years on varsity.
At 6-foot-4, 200 pounds, Chaffin could end up a walk-on tight end for the Huskers.
