Todd Cooper

Position: Courts reporter

What I do: Cover courts and legal issues for The World-Herald.

About me: Born in Omaha, I spent most of my childhood in Lincoln. After graduating from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, I worked at the St. Cloud (Minn.) Times as a cops and courts reporter from 1995 to 1997. In June 1997, I returned home to become a staff writer for The World-Herald. I've covered suburbs and City Hall, written features and, for the past 10 years, have covered the courts beat. I enjoy telling the compelling, contentious and, at times, quirky human-interest stories that arise from court cases. While in college, I also worked as a full-time general assignment reporter for the Lincoln Journal Star.
